The inn was dark and supposedly hunted. The walls, and all the atmosphere smelt like humidity. Ethel decided that sunlight was good for her, not just for her body but for her spirit.
Outside she could smell the ground, look at the coneys jumping and running through the land and the hills, but they seem happy, as if they don't mind at all that the environment was dry or semidry in some areas of Lone Lands. She also can look at the sky, a blue sky. All of that reminded her that she was going to have a good journey back to Edoras. Many many moons were still needed for her to arrive there. She knew that the journey was going to be a long one, one worth surely months.
Suddenly, there was a silhouette.no, two silhouettes near to her but that she couldn't see who the owners of them were. Finally, the silhouttes show a face, a body. She saw a man followed by a strange vision; a female elf. Ethel's face showed surprise becouse in her mind that is not a common view, not always she can see a human and an elf working together or just being together. But she tried that her surprise face was seen as calm and relaxed. The man claimed to be a ranger called Estellor, and the elf was a fighter also. Her name was Aethelrien.
After metting them, a while passed when she met another traveler. Apparently was just a simple traveller. Her name is Sadie. She is a shield maiden, or she was... now she has many years upon her, but she told Ethel she was a shield maiden of this certain elf. Both women were having a nice talk when suddenly, another female elf arrived. Her name was Ahmo and she told the women some words that Ethel didn't believe at first. She said that she has been following a band of evil dwarves who were robbing travellers and that the tracks had lead her there. Ethel was perplexed and didn't know since where she was following them. Those were the words she heard from her.
Ethel laughed at the idea of evil dwarves scouting the place and finding the best time to attack, "Ridiculous", she thought. Then she walked near a bush and suddenly, a figure or something like a shadow, came out of the bush and violently, grabbed her. Ethel realized this ugly dwarf tries to carry her. And he did. The dwarf was strong.
Strong, ugly dwarf carrying Ethel? no, that could not be, not for long. She begun to kick at him, pull from his hair and bread, and mainly she begun to bite him. Ethel is not a fighter, she is just a guide from Rohan, but she owns the spirit of a rohirrim woman and she thought that the dwarf won't have an easy fight with her.
After hearing the dwarf's plans, she bit him even harder and kicked at him with more rage, thinking on sticking her fingers in his eyes so that way she could make him blind for enough time so she could escape. She was thinking that when the dwarf said to her that it was not worth all the fuzz she was making and he didn't like to be bitten, for the quantity of gold he was going to receive if Ethel was a prisoner of some dunlending. while the dwarf was complaining, she thought that was the best time to escape and she did but when she was about to do it, Sadie and Ahmo arrived. Ahmo begun to shoot at him some arrows and Sadie begun to fight him not only with her fists but with a weapon. Ethel couldn't notice which weapon was that becouse she already was feeling like fainting until suddenly, her body laid into the ground.
