A raft miniature in a bottle
Calie's gift found its place on the small table by the bed and I wished to give it a jar with branches and flowers as background but the green of the wall behind it was good enough an option. I look trough the layer of glass to the raft with it's intricate details and to the green and brown tangled, reminding me wild forests,. From the opposite direction a playful sun ray finds it's way as well trough the layers of glass of the window jar and bottle to make an incredibly small metal binding of the raft sparkle as if a star from the canopy decided to climb down from its place and add its beauty to the Greenlander's raft and bring him good fate and hope troughout his travels and signal his home comming to his loved ones from far away..
Loeglond was as beautiful and tinkered at settlement as are all the places of our kin. When you have plenty of time at hand your taste for beauty refines and your hands gain skill and you just have the time to bring beauty into any detail of your surroundings, just because you can.Our rafts were significantly more thougth at than their human counterparts and the oars would also tell stories if the raftsman, in boredom, took out knife and started carving. They would be made of the most sturdy wood and they would last quite a while, gathering memories and stories. The raftsmen were rarely poets or sculptures by trade but enough loneliness and surrounding beauty makes an artist and a thinker out of any intelligent and sensitive beeing.
