Camping at Meluinen
He was already awake for some hours when she woke up and looked at him with sleepy eyes and not a small measure of disbelief. She was tired after them traveling such a distance to Meluinen without restimg much, all the way from where she found him just after the border of the Trollshaws. Wasn't he tired as well?? He was playing with a simple, sturdy lute that he borrowed from a guardian of the small camp of Melluinen. The brave elves choosing to mentain this resting safe place for their kindred to use in their way towards the West cared little about luxuries but held dear such items that made the time spent there more pleasant. The wood lute with a minimum of silver decorations was one of such items.
"You found your inspiration during the nigth?" she asked as a joke but Naergon nodded seriously. He was maybe a bit more pale than usual or was it only the ligth? "I did, Calie thougth I did not expect it. It's strange but the words and the tune came to me suddenly while looking at his tomb...a tomb that I helped digging. Don't look at me like that..someone had to. It was an act of duty and I did other things that I feel more ashamed of than digging a grave"..
He looked at the strings and tuned one of them better trying its sound repeatedly.
"You want to hear the song that I put together? I should call it his song..but I'll name it The Soldier, for it fits the struggles of more than one"
"Oh I heard some of it already" she answered and he was not sure if there was a hint of reproch in it, for waking her up. "But I will hear it all gladly, nevertheless" she added and any bad mood was gone from the tone.
He caressed the strings in an opening accord and started singing acompaning his voice with a simple, sad but convincing melody..
