Gossip or insight?

Rivendell,

A couple of months earlier

Redandir was sitting on the grass near one of many bodies of water in the Valley. He had a straw in his mouth and was looking at the water, all in his thoughts.

“Rivendell seems like a nice place, probably even better than my homeland. And elves here are so lovely too. At least those that I’ve met…”

“What Hiril Manadhlaer said about Olriandis giving her heart to Golvagor? Hmmm…Is it a gossip of an old lady or words of wisdom of the Lady Healer who can see through?” - Redandir frowned and chewed on the straw. - “He looks good, but nothing special too, not special enough to break 3000 years of “I couldn’t care less about weddings”. But he reminds me of Captain Byron a little and some say elleth chose a husband similar to their fathers…” He picked up a stone and sent it into the water. “Ah, rubbish. Asking her would also make no difference - she would just laugh and give me one of her looks”.

Redandir chuckles and lays back on the grass, putting his arms under his head. “Ah Olriandis, Ol-rian-dis, the forest fox, no one ever knows what’s on her mind or in her heart…” He smiles and narrows his eyes - because of the sun shining bright on him or due to pleasant thoughts and dreams - who knows?

Ol (Sindarin) - dream/vision

Rian - “queen” or “crown”/”wreath” + “gift”

Dis - “bride” and mostly used just as a female suffix
