A letter to the Blood Queen
(the words are a bit clumsy, written with unsure hand and some letters are a bit deformed, but the lines are straight and the writing has clean structure)
Dear Ladyship Seregrían,
It is me, Sheila, who is writing to you. I have learned it on the way, Kor is surprisingly very patient teacher. Please excuse me if I write some words with errors.
I hope my letter finds you in good health and good mood. As the time passed already a bit, I felt the urge to let you know about our where-abouts and plans.
Yes, me and Kor were trying to take care of some unfinished business in our homeland. So far we ended hunting of some bad guys and we are preparing for hunting of bad relatives (of Kor). After dealing with all loose ends, he speaks of moving to his kartrev – a former home of him. I am not very sure about it, although it is true that we need a solid ground and time to relief of all the travelling, not speaking about our animal friends. When there was already three little kompanions, Kor felt a bit jealous (although he would never admit it) that he dozen’t have any animal of himself, although I konsider all of them ours, and brought a puppy. So now our herd (or pack – rather, it is difficult to judge) konsists of crow, hedgehog, cat, bear and a dog. The cub has surprised us, when it already helped us in fight. Not with claws however, he scared a few enemies only with his presence. Sometimes it is komplicated with this little circus, especially when arriving in some foreign town, but usually they behave. Mostly they keep us very happy. They are more then averagely clever for their kind.
I am looking forward to see you and Bainiel soon. I miss her and it is already so many weeks we are away from the Lair. I guess I would not best her in running competition anymore.
I need not to convince Kor to return to Falathlorn in some days, it seems we will finish soon if everything goes well. The politics between the dunnish clans is simple when you get to know the rules of it, so it seems for me. Now that the bloody bastard Saruman has lost his influence, things are improving.
And also, there is the matter of Kor’s passion for books and lore. He misses your awesome library, although he would not say it aloud. And now, when I can read too, I guess it is another important reason to return to the Lair soon.
Beak, who will bring you this message, is already a grown-up bird. He dozen’t need much and can take care of himself. He already knows the way to Blue mountains and back south.
Hopefully see you soon
Sheila
