The lonely ghost mountain

Sitting high on the peak she looked down over the valley. It had taken her all day to scale the side of the rugard slope, but it had been well worth it. There had been talk of a ruin hidden up in the tip of the slope and after some searching she had found it, along with her quarry. He hadnt put up much of a fight, more relieved at no longer having to run and hide. His family had put quite a decent bounty on his safe return. After a week of running he was done with trying to survive on his own and more than willing to head home and face the bride he had left at the alter, better that than another cold night without food in his belly. He was a sorry sight. Unlike the view she currently beheld. For the moment though she let him fill his belly with the warm tea over the fire she had made him, and warm himself under the blanket before the trek back down.

She couldnt help but ponder if this was the type of mountain her new found friend might claim to be the lord ghost over, it made her smile that devious sensual smile of hers. Things had been different of late. People she could actually spend time with whom to her delight actually seemed interested in talking with her. A rarity. Most took one look at the curve of her him, the lilt of her sensual smile, and sparkle of her eye and sort only one thing. Something she had no interest in giving out. It was always a merry dance. The hop and skip of it. Yet in the end she would leave alone. She just wanted someone to find her interesting to converse with for once. She didnt consider herself to be completely without wit, so it was good to have some people to actually spar with now. A quick look over at the hapless man and she could see why he had run. He was clearly marrying beneath him, but his family needed the prestigue the girls family would offer. She had done her homework though. The girl was of good character, by no means a dim child, and she would match his mind and keep him interested even if she was not a great beauty. He would come to find other values in her if he could just get over his own vanity.

A quick pep talk. She spoke to him on the way back down of the many merits of the girl. Her great wit and charm. Her cooking and fine assests that he could not get see. By the time she delievered him home the lad was rushing to the alter seeming ready to test the things he could not see and find the depths he had foolishly let slip him by. She would check on them in a few months. She was very sure after she had spoken to the girl in private and given her a few "secret tips" that she would find him a very happily married man.
