Second Council on the Ancient Relics in Imladris

And so word was sent out to those who were investigating the ancient relics to once more return to Imladris, to council to discuss what they had learned. Elvenkind and Men were represented at the Council and all offered forward what they had discovered and also their own viewpoint on the reason for being of the ancient relics.

It became apparent that all believed they were a portent to something looming in the future and also that these strange rocks formations had had different effect on different people. One woman of menkind had reported burns, indeed other reports had also come to light about the effects upon menfolk. But strangely only two elves had been known to have suffered any effects from them. The Lady Nimlith when she tried to take a sample from one stone, it had cost her dearly and was not something anyone had tried to repeat since. Then there was Andarne who was reported to have become ill after being exposed to one of them.

With the scholars of Imladris looking into the samples of the essence that was taken during the warbands expedition to each stone and with Lord Elrond being unable to offer any extra wisdom on these stones those gathered were left to formulate their next steps. There was no clear majority on what anyone believed the stones to be for but it was agreed that no single faction had the ability to handle all that could come forth from all five of these ancient relics. So it was agreed that contacts should be made with those who dwelled in the areas where each stone was located and help asked to enable a watching guard-ship to be carried out on each with immediate word being sent out should something change. Lady Nimlith would head to the north to speak with the Lossoth, Lady Irulian to the west to speak with Bounder Bosvo who Lady Nimlith said could be trusted. The one in Enedwaith would be given over to the Grey Company to watch over and the one in the Downs would be taken under the wing of the Rangers through their contact with the council, Elendraen. That left just the one in the Trollshaws which Khalis agreed after speaking with Elisbeth would be watched over by the patrols of the Warband.

The Council closed with many thoughts dwelling upon those who had gathered, for although they had made plans there was still no clear picture of what if anything was to come. When Khalis shared the news from the Council with Lord Elrond he left thinking there was still much they did not know about these ancient relics and the threat which they portended to.
