Tis the month we celebrate Bullroarer Took annually, and with it comes a new tune penned for The Bullroarers' performance at Bullroarer Took Day. It goes summat like this:
There lived a famous lad in Long Cleeve yonks ago
He was strong and bold and his Tookish side did show
All goblins looked at him with terror and with fear
But to local lasses he was such a charming dear
He was tall as almost any creature
Four-foot-five or higher
And he also was the kind of chieftain,
wizards would admire
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
Gram rotters he did deter
Now, for a hobbit he really was tall
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
The Greenfields saw such a stir
He putt Golfimbul’s head, invented golf
He lead the Shire-folk and gutsy was his charge
Though some thought him cracked and did hum and arr
In times of dire need he was the lad to lead
And he was right great when he had brutes to make flee
For the tweens he was a real show-stealer
Though some folk tutted the things he did,
there was none to make goblins squealier
One to save our buns
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
Gram rotters he did deter
Now, for a hobbit he really was tall
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
The Greenfields saw such a stir
He putt Golfimbul’s head, invented golf
(But when his drinking and clubbing and his hunger for living became nowt more than dust and memories, goblins to this day crawl back to the mountain's roots at the mere sight of a golf club
As hobbies go, they prefer a bit of cave painting!)
“This rat’s just got to go!" grumbled their enemies
But the lasses scoffed, "Don't you dare to cross him, fiends!"
No doubt this Bandobras had lots of hidden qualms
Though he showed it not, made it into all the songs
This one lad held in the highest standing
Now all hobbits know his name
”Come, raise a toast!" they keep on chanting,
“To our most famed!”
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
Gram rotters he did deter
Now, for a hobbit he really was tall
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
The Greenfields saw such a stir
They say he could mount a full-sized horse
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
Stronger than the wildest boar
He shrugged them off and roared, "For our Shire!"
Bull- Bull- Bullroarer!
That lad caused such furor
Into a rabbit hole went the head of that cur
