Back to the Blue

Dear Helvari,

In light of recent events, increased goblin and orc activity, and my suspicion that a dark askâdul figure may be targeting our kin, I decided to return to the Blue Mountains.
We only have one guard at the old home now, and since it is only myself there, I feel one is plenty. The rest of the kin's ushmur remain with you in Erebor or on their way to join you. I trust that they will be well received.

I must admit that I am troubled by strange dreams of late, I trust that Helfór is well?

I have news that may come of surprise to you my son. I was asked if I would join that regiment that I have previously written to you regarding. They call themselves the Blue Mountain Regiment, and I believe doing so is the right move since we have just one guard here and strange things are afoot. A few are older than myself and have rather strange tales to tell.
They are on the whole a merry group, some are ardent bards, others keen on keeping Ered Luin a safe place. I believe that you would like them and learn a lot from them, should you ever wander further than the great city under the mountain.
One particular nadad, by the name of Thonin, has kept me entertained on some particularly important duties. There was an occasion where we had to undertake neighbourhood watch to ensure homes were safe. There must have been upwards of one hundred goblins slewn that night, and I am confident the dragon we fought off will not return to trouble the home ugnur again.
Nadad Thonin also serves some of the finest ale I have tasted in quite some time, though I believe one or two is quite enough, and far too many may have been consumed on that night!

Now that I have brothers-in-arms, I am more confident that I will be able to make the journey to Imladris without trouble.

I continue to trust that you keep our kin safe and well.

Zihdal,
Anvari, Son of Helfór.
