Songs and poetry: When stars descend on earth

A white moon’s waving silky light

Over the slopes of snow and fir

The air is thick of fog and myrrh

A cloak of snowy winter night

The stars above shine mighty spell

The sky’s a shield encrusted with

A thousand diamonds from the deep

Spikes and facettes polished so well

And suddenly they start to fall,

From where they dreamed, inlaid, up high..

They fly their ghostly graceful flight

Responding an awaited call

A rain of stars and silver sand

Falls, waves of sparkles, from the sky

Descending gracefully and shy

Over the frozen sparkling land

Ice stars embracing steel and gold

Make crowns of stars over proud brow,

Over tall cliffs or trees that bow

Under their jewelry of the cold
