Music for this scene: River of tears
As the yule season continued, she found herself frequently visiting the graveyard, it was one of the few places where she could hear herself think. And there was something about the evening sky, and the sound of snow crunching beneath her feet. It drew her in, intoxicated her, 'Is there something wrong with me?' She thought.
To be so drawn to these sacred stones, or rather, his sacred stone. The grounds where her first love slept forever. She wrapped her shawl tightly around her shoulders, walking toward the back of the graveyard. Where Raymond rests. When the Lady loved, she loved with every fiber of her being.
Those that latched onto her heart, would stay there forever, locked behind the cage that guards it. Aellwenn kneeled down and sat in front of his gravestone, "You would do the same for me If I were in your place. The visits I mean. I know you aren't hurting anymore. And that I will one day see you again. But here in this life, I am all the poorer for it,"
She took the bunches of holly that she brought and placed them below the gravestone, "Freawine, you'd be happy with, he already knows how to use a hunting knife. I taught him, as you taught me."
There it was again, the sound of fresh fallen snow, crushing underfoot. But it didn't come from Aellwenn.
The undertaker again.
Without looking she said, "Did you come for another chat? I'm not in the mood."
"Is that so? You seemed quite enthralled moments ago. What with your flapping gums and the sound of your own voice. It's as if you expect the dead to answer."
"Clearly your job lacks excitement, considering you are so keen on harassing me " Hissed Aellwenn.
"Harass? I would not call it that. It is only banter. This ain't the barrow downs, so the dead aren't complaining or talkin' fer' that matter."
The lady shakes her head and looks back to the gravestone.
"Who was he anyway?"
"A good man that died too soon."
"Murder then?" he inquired.
"Yes, murder."
"I see. You have my condolences."
"Take your condolences and throw them into the sea." She replied.
"Aye.. alright then. It looks like we are done here."
"Yes, you're excused."
