21: The Battle: Part 3

Egfor rolled off the corpse of the beast, his body felt like he hit a stone wall, he felt like he was at the Hornburg all over again. He was drenched in blood and not his own. He was barely aware that Dem launched hismelf off the cliff after the two, landing on the corpse of the drake, furiously stabbing at it and screaming.

What happened afterwards was a bit of a haze to Egfor. He felt a searing agony as the curse was leaving his body, thrashing in agony on the snow. He pulled himself up to his feet, gasping for breath. The others rush down to help them. Dem grabs Egfor, kissing him soundly, making Thorbeck protest and Rhavi blush. Dem adn Egfor bickered a little, Egfor stubbornly pulling Dem's pain from his injuries onto himself, as he was less injured.

Egfor's mind blurrs, focusing a bit on the party traipsing back, Egfor holding the severed head, his trophy, up aloft as they pass through the gates.
