Recapping Emotions

in

Sometimes, life leads you in unexpected places.
Sometimes, life brings you close to people, people who seem fascinating. You get closer to them, eager to meet them, to see who they are, thirsty for the warmth and light they have to offer.

Marganil's trail of thoughts was interrupted by a small squirrel. It hoped between the tree branches, pausing only momentarily to observe her.

"I know, I am here again". She looked around the silent Trestlebridge. "How come that my life gets upside down always at the same place?" She asked, but the animal had already gone too far away to answer.

A lot had occurred. What had really happened? She knew the facts about the poison, the cure, the lieutenants of the enemy. She knew about the danger and the reasons of the sudden disband of their group; a group that she had longed to join. A group that she trully believed she could belong to.

This was the problem. She had thought she belonged, she had thought she found a place that they understood her, a place that she could be a better version of herself.

Instead, all of this, they ate her from inside out, they inflated her and suck out her life. Marganil wanted to believe that they didn't do it to her on purpose; she wanted to believe that she was caught in the flames like a moth.

Truth is that some people just hurt you on purpose. Use you and abuse you till they had enough of the drama of their own creation. As soon as they had their fill, they spit you out without a second thought and you are left as dry as a bone.

Marganil got up from the place beneath the tree. She would never know what people planned to do, she would never know what people meant for her. All she knew was that she had family; she had a sister, even if she was relative by blood. Time for her to go back to Bree. She would need time to explain all to Finnvi, and she would need time to convince her to travel south with her.
