Celoslind 7th chapter

Meldaini opened her half-closed dreamy eyes as my song stopped abruptly and turned to see what was breaking the spell of the long-forgotten story with heroes. She rose and turned and whispered like wind trough mountains crevases in a storm of fury unlike her sweet voice that I came to crave the soothing sound of:

"Who are you to disturb my peace and walk uninvited into my halls and what do you seek here? I welcome not those visitors that I have not chosen!"

The two elves did not cower at her fury and my brother, Carnilórë, took a step forward, looked at me and answered coldly and spiteful, his face like stone.

"I am his brother by blood and my name is Carnilórë. This is his brother by oath,Cernaindo. Kin we are to him who you have cast your spells upon  to bring him into this place of conscience slumber! Strong you are, o, Maia, but you shall not cast us away while our soul still inhabits these bodies, for you have caged one who belongs to his people, not you."

She moved towards them and hissed back in her storm like voice:

"I caged no one, fool! See you a cage here, Elf? Your eyes are, then, utterly broken! He followed me for his own will and I welcomed his love! He is mine now!"

It felt like I was waking up from a dream and I understood not why my brethren are hostile to my love and why she answers them the same. I rose to one knee and prepared to plea for her to welcome my brothers and let them see that I am there where my heart wishes to forever rest. A moment of peace was all that was needed for them to see her light and wonder, to marvel and take joy in my luck and happiness.

Meldani turned and seemed to read in my eyes what I wished to say and I read back in hers a sea of sorrow, anger, and decision. Before I could say anything Carnilórë asked with thunder in his voice:

"For your own will, o, brother of mine, have you left the side of your dieing kin!? For your own will you have broken your oath to your brothers and Lord, an oath to return with an answer as soon as your strength will grant you power to do so? For your own will, have you left me prey to despair over your fate and facing choice between brother and duty? Answer all this, to me and her both!"

I trembled and felt the weight of my deed. My shoulders upheld the weight of a world of shame and guilt. She looked at me and her eyes lost anger and shined of pity and love. She turned and her steps rolled like water foam until she was halfway between me and them and she said again, in a lower voice but even more threatening:

"Leave!"
