An exchange of gifts

Tolmen wiped his hands on his smithing apron with a satisfied smile, the forge was working admirably and keeping a steady heat was effortless as he worked, he would add the elaborate filegree and fancy etchings later but for now the sturdy yet flexible plated armour for hiril Urwendi was almost complete. The quendi seemed fascinated with him and was most respectful in his and Silwe's presence, something he greatly approved of. The lady had asked his advice on forging techniques and she showed her own work of a steel sword worked with crystals and mithril, a truly deadly and beautiful weapon. In turn he had presented his own great sword forged in the fires of Formenos in elder days...

At the gathering in the Hammer hall Urwendi had begged an audience with him after the meeting was concluded, she warmly thanked him for his gift and mentioned she had one of her own to present to him, she opened a pouch to reveal a pendant of an eagle rising with outstretched wings and within each feather a white gemstone had been inlaid and she shyly handed it over for inspection.
Tolmen remarked on the delicate work and then returned the pendant to her and suggested she pin it to him herself bowing his head close so she could reach all the easier.
As Urwendi set the necklace around his neck he caught the scent she wore and smiled at their closeness.
Urwendi abruptly broke off her contact as Silwë returned to the hall and upon seeing the pair gave a laugh 'I'm not disturbing you cousin am I?'
Tolmen cleared a catch in his throat and made to reply but Urwendi said she had things to attend to and curtsey'd politely before leaving the pair at the doors of the hall.

Tolmen's thoughtful gaze followed the quendi until she was out of sight.
