Dear diary,
Yesterday was certainly eventful. After spending a while squashing slugs over at Needlehole with Dem, Fin, and the others, a group of wandering dwarves appeared! Now, we were having a right old problem with those slugs - no matter how many we squished, there were still more. We asked those dwarves to help us with our little slug problem... and wouldn't you believe it, they got the job done ever so quickly! We were quite pleased with their work, I can tell you that!
After the slugs had been well and truly dealt with, we started travelling through those icky marshes on our way to the Plough and Stars to get some well-deserved refreshments and rest. On the way, however, we ran into some other dwarves our band of dwarves called Dourhands? Apparently they're mean and bad dwarves, so there was a bit of fighting... it was rather unpleasant and I didn't quite understand why all those dwarves were fighting each other.
In the end, we got to the inn and had a jolly time singing, drinking, and dancing! I played my lute for our guests, and then one of them played his bagpipes. Mister Barkgrim even honoured me with a dance at the end of the evening.
All in all, it was an exciting and enjoyable day.
