Self Notes 11 - A Gift, a Farewell and a Journey

A gift comes with a story, leaving the words “to Remember”

A piece of cloth purled with an elven ship on it…

And I remember the soft touch of sands under my hands,

The taste of salty water…

I remember of my lands, my friends… my past,

I remember the nightmares and the doubts,

I remember the story…

A piece of cloth as a gift for a single drop of tear…

For me to remember...

Sometimes I don’t know where to stand… how to behave like happened tonight…

I watched Quessir behind the lucid borders of myself wondering if they ever lost the way, if they ever fall…

And watched Tinuchen writing on his slate without hesitations…

I read the words telling me that he is going to leave soon, how much he worried for his father… And that he wishes for me to go with him…

Although I wished to meet his father, I wished not to let him go alone… I said that I cannot. I never voiced but my heart filled with terror even hearing the name of Lone Lands. I felt that I wasn’t ready to face my nightmares yet.

I bid him a farewell and left a slight touch on his shoulder…

He just smiled at me after writing on his slate and left it between my hands written the words “This is my friendship” before going away.

I was lost in thoughts when Lord Galdrid woke me to the present. I didn’t know how long I have stood at the entrance before he came. He was in a rush to get his armors, seemed more alive to my eyes. The distant features of his face frankly enlightened with the news he recently got and I found myself riding into the deepest part of Eregion to the school of Tham Mirdain in the search of some relics.

He told me stories of the places we passed by and I felt that he was telling me pieces of his story.

We travelled three days and nights and I enjoyed every second…

I enjoyed the touch of refreshing breeze on my face, watching the night sky adorned with stars, feeling the warmth of a campfire

And remembered how much I liked to travel before…

I felt my blood starts to flow in my veins once again…

But it didn’t end just like that…
