The silver moon was shining down upon the red roofs of Bree, the silver light casting a long shadow behind a man, hooded, masked and clad in black, standing on the roof of the town's jail house, looking over the town and the silence below...
A loud noise came from the archway over the road below, a dog running through it chasing a cat up the street, and then, golden light burst from the door of the jail, illuminationg a narrow strip of the street and the shadow of a man standingi n the doorway.
Seraile observed the man walk out and close the door behind him, looking around and setting off at a brisk pace towards the south stables, Seraile followed Silently, then he saw it, a squad of about ten men, carrying swords.
Seraile knew what to do... he took out the small crossbow and loaded it with a small poisoned bolt aimed, then something, directly in front of Seraile seemed to fly up just as he pressed the trigger, the bolt hit the crow squarely in the chest, it fell down and landed on a pile of logs causing some to roll off, making a loud noise, catching the attention of the guards...
Seraile stood stock still, immobile under the silver moon light, if they looked up, he was exposed.. all they needed was their bows, which were slung on their backs... One of the guards walked over to the fallen logs and picked up the dead crows, pulling the the bolt.
Seraile slowly lifted a foot to move back, up the roof, then a tile slipped and fell down below, hitting the guard squarely on the head, knocking him unconcious, Seraile looked at the team of guards, that looked up at him and paused a moment, startled to find him there, then they drew their bows, Seraile ran, he knew a way to still get to his target.
He ran along, jumped on the Hunters Lodge, and into the ruins behind and up above Beggars Alley, He heard the guards shout as they ran past the town hall, he waited for them, then he saw them, through Mudstone Gate they were running straight to him.
He slipped behind a wall, and into shadows where only few could see him and he made his way back to the auction house as swiftly as possible, he might still be there, waiting....
Looking down at the man wearing a hood, Seraile stood on the roof of the town's Auction house, there was no way down without getting spotted, it had gone all wrong, if it wasn't for that crow, he would be home now, where no one could find him...
The faces of the innocent family the man had thrown out of the town under false accusations of stealing grain and chickens from an enstate in the north, when they were only a poor family, they had food, Seraile knew they had, and there was no need to throw people out of the town, no-one had that right or power.
Seraile knew what he had to do... drawing his dagger and holding it with both hands and jumped down from the roof, the feeling of weightlesnes took over he was falling faster than he could think, the man looked up, fear obvious in his face, Seraile landed with his feet on the mans shoulders, using him to cushion his fall, then sinking the dagger into the man's spine, ending his corrupted life.
Seraile got up, dropping a black feather on the mans back and sprang up, grabbing the man's coin pouch and running out of the south gate and running along the hedge wall, looking for a small grey tent hung up between two trees, he spotted it and silently ran towards it, he had to get far away before the guards managed to follow him.
He got to the entrance of the tent, they were sleeping, the light of the moon shining through the grey cloth of the tent, they were all sleeping peacefully, all that mattered for them was that they were together, not money or power, Seraile then emptied the few silver coins into the mother's empty hand resumed running towards the west gate pocketing the empty leather coinpouch, keeping it so the guard couldn't blame the sleeping family.
