She had felt someone take her hand more than once in her restless sleep. She heard multiple voices speaking to her at different times. Though her mind was a haze which mostly consisted of terrible dreams, she could feel their worry. They cared about what happened to her.
She wasn't sure when it happened, but the evening came when she was able to crack open her eyes. Her brain seemed more foggy than it had while she slept and the light from the fireplace stung her eyes.
Someone's eager, relieved voice called others to the room. She guessed most folks were in bed, though a few worried faces which showed up in her room, appeared to have been missing sleep.
"I'm tired. I think...I'll sleep now." Someone brushed her hair with their fingers and she drifted off, feeling safe. Not only safe, but relieved to see her troubled dreams had not come to pass.
She slept for an amount of time she did not know. She didn't want to ask. But she was very aware, when she awakened again, of the eyes constantly watching her. She was very much informed that she would be resting and taking it easy for a little while. "He's stuck here too, then. No way he's leaving me behind," she thought.
Might as well get used to the bed for a few days.
