Greetings, Lady Northgyth,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I write on behalf of my grandfather, Erbrand, who has hitherto been a neighbour of yours. I know from him you have shown him kindness after the death of my grandmother, and kept an eye on him when possible. I believe you have frequently provided his meals when he has been at the house in Bancross.
But to the matter at hand.
My grandfather was taken unwell in Edoras ten days ago. Much is due to his age and his mood. My father and I think it best if he remains now in Edoras itself, where our family can keep a closer watch of him. To that end, it is agreed with all the family that he should sell his old house in Bancross to enable him to buy a smaller dwelling here. I am writing also to Thane Averel, and to the Commander at the Garrison, so they are aware of what is transpiring.
Speed is of the essence. We are asking around the capitol to see if any here would care for a home further out. It is not promising so far. I would be grateful if you could also ask around Bancross, and any travellers that pass through in case anyone there may want more room. There will of course be a remittance for you should you be able to assist.
Due to the urgency, and the need of some renovation work to make the house a home again, we are willing to sell at less than it would normally be worth. Thirty gold is the price we are looking for.
My grandfather asks to be remembered to you, and thanks you for your past kindness.
Erstan, son of Ermund.
