Two

Suddenly every heart stopped at once

And my spear was raised for the last time

I turned to see the field soaked with blood

And none of it yours - it was mine

While I was a victor for one and us all

I found I could not bring myself to move

My cry was not gleeful; 'twas more of a shout

And it was directed towards you

My knees started shaking, my palms followed suit

Your heart was splintered in half

I knew I wasn't going to recover from this

It was all I could do not to laugh

I dropped to the ground, my shield sundered twain

I fell beneath yrch and debts of weight

And though your hands reached out to offer life

You and I both knew it was too late
