Patient: Man, female, adult
Syndrome: Cold skin, weak heart, unconscious, possible poisoning.
Treatment: Spadic Elixir, rest
The bard, Ryheric, brought a woman into the infirmary to be looked at. I was informed that that she had been unconscious for a good while and that she barely clung to life. Mildwynn appeared to be with them; perhaps the young woman would have perished if it weren’t for the healer’s company. From what I was told, she approached the whole matter as I would.
Ryheric spoke of wights, then later, curses and many other oddities were mentioned when I inquired further. Strangely clad men, altars and other lunacies I had to hold my tongue about.
I still do not understand why would anyone go running around on a gravesite, but seems that is what they did. This leads me to believe that they may have been poisoned or negatively affected by the soil in the area. Even I felt sick and faint when I was taken there and we merely stood at the borders of those lands.
The elixir did what I had hoped and the woman’s heart sounds stronger. I’ll continue to check on her throughout the night and make sure there are no adverse changes. I was surprised to see that she did not require more, but it may be too soon to tell. For now, she rests and as long as her breathing is steady, her skin remains warm and her heart does not change its rhythm again, she should be up on her feet soon enough.
Patient: Man, female, adult
Syndrome: Fractured rib
Treatment: Waxed bandages, rest
Another, from the same group, was injured; a fractured rib. I’ve advised her to refrain from being too active; if she manages, the woman should be better in a couple of weeks.
The man’s burns have healed well, he should be able to leave within a day or so. It will be a good thing, I’ve grown tired of him looking through my work, or at least trying to. I’ve caught him far too many times within the room, no matter how often I have requested for him to keep away.
He still blames me, my experiments and testing in the marshes. I’m not certain what to think of this conviction, but it has made me curious of what caused his wounds. At times I’m tempted to venture into the marshes to find them, to see what they have made and whether they were inspired by my own work.
Once he’s gone, I can resume with my plans to visit Gondor.
