Third Age Diary: Trade and Relations

My time within this company grows with each day, and so do the relationships have forged with the members of the company. I am surprised by my own willingness to stay in the Bree lands and be in the company of such mixed races. The Ithilwe of ages past would have scoffed if asked to mingle with men, and most especially dwarves.

This grudge I have held for the mortal kind seems to be softening with age and experience. My readiness to keep their company is growing and I have found many good friends among the members.

Hiril Ana is very sweet. She and her husband, Hir Amaken, make a good pair. They both are kind and generous. The two are easy to talk to and will hold a good conversation.

Seargent Kildwin....a good dwarf, dare I say. Though I do hope no one ever tells him I said so. My pride would be forfeit. He must continue to think I am a quiet and selfish elf! I am learning to work under his command, no matter how my Noldor pride tells me different. It will be interesting to see how the warriors work together in the future.

I have recently met a man from Gondor, Hir Gaurnim. He is quite interesting. He has joined the company but his soul seems to want to stray in many directions, from Angmar to his homeland of Gondor. He is also a warrior and carries large weapons everywhere.

Hiril Seregrian has become a most wonderful friend. Her advice and knowledge knows no bounds and I have already gone to her with concerns or questions on different matters. Recently she, Hir Gaurnim, Amathlan and I journeyed to the Chetwood to do trade with the woodmen who reside there. We had a lovely time and were offered a delicious feast on our arrival, though poor Amathlan was put on auroch duty! What a sight he was.

As for Amathlan...well that is not for me to say, but we have grown incredibly close. Perhaps it is because of our shared home and events that only we can know the horror of. Whatever it is, I am glad for him. We have been spending more and more time together. Sometimes I think he..... no that is not something I should wonder or even want. But still....

In a couple days time we shall be setting out for a journey through the Shire where we will be staying for two weeks. I look forward to spending time among those innocent halflings, in a land where the horrors of the world will seem so far away....
