I've found my journal, dusty and hidden and tucked away in one of the bookshelves. It's been more than a month since I've picked it up, right after we got married and moved into our new home. So many new things have happened since then, I don't know where even to begin. But I was too much in a rush to sit down and write, so I tucked my journal into my bag and headed out.
Things have gotten better since my last entry, Leoffrith is feeling a lot better these days. For a while, things felt very rocky, and I wasn't sure if it was ever going to get better, but it seems like his sadness went away with the changing of the seasons. We went fishing not too long ago, and I was absolutely awful at it and far more interested in swimming, but we did catch a lot for dinner that night. I can't say fishing is something I ever want to do again, I must admit.
Napi is beginning to get on in years, so we decided to retire him to our stable and let him peacefully live out the rest of his days. I still spend time with him every day, and I take him out every now and then so that he doesn't feel left out. We went to Hengstacer, and I purchased a beautiful Blue Roan mare and named her Steorra. She's young and not very willful and kind of distractible, but I've absolutely fallen for her.
Leoffrith and I arrived in Trestlebridge today. It's a very quaint little town and not somewhere that I would never enjoy being for a long time. He took me to the bridge and we got halfway through before I refused to go on anymore, it was absolutely just too terrifying. I could have sworn the bridge was swaying and that I would soon fall to my death. Leoffrith offered to carry me back to the town, and I hid my face until he said we had made it back.
I think we are going back to Bree tomorrow. We've discussed traveling to other places, and I'm really excited to go visit the Shire with him soon.
