Letter: To Lithiva

Dear Lithiva,

My name is Lumina, and I am writing you a letter on behalf of your brother Leoffrith. We have received the tragic news of his family, but we hear you are well and safe. Leoffrith wishes for me to write for him that his friend, Adri, came to Bree, where we currently live, and gave him the news. He says he can't imagine what it must be like there and that he heard your husband was injured. We both hope he is well by the time you read this letter. He said that while he only met him once, he is sure he was as brave as any man of the Mark.

This letter will take a long time to deliver, and you likely will not receive it until most of the fighting is over. He hopes that things will be rebuilt and regrown. The Hornburg has never fallen, he says, and the blood of Eorl strong.

It may be too painful to reside there, and we both would be happy for you and any family you have to come up this way if you so wished to. Leoffrith is known well in town and has a very stable job with the horses, and we can set you back on your feet. He says he could help you make a home of it.

Leoffrith and Lumina.
Napgrove, Bree-land
