3. The smallest cut

Jamar, after you have read this you will know that unexpected things can be good.. And that those near you can deal the most damage.

Your aunt Silver and I, ever since she has returned, have not been the same. The person I saw as a confidante has turned vile towards me. Derny said she shuts herself off, unwilling to share what she feels and that I should respect her by not intervening in her affairs, I try and yet she still walked away.. Now I fear I can only watch her scowl at me from afar. I had enough of this, I try to help and I get sand thrown in my eyes, bitten at. It hurts me, but then again.. What hasn't?

Forgive me for this, my son, you should not read past ails from your father but know that his love towards your Aunt, my sister, stands unwithered. Now I wait and see.. Shall it be returned?

I have kept my distance from Bree for a few days now, in preperation of becoming a huntsman once more.. I have hired two young men, brothers in blood to eachother and they show promise of delivering the tasks I set them out to do. The meat we gathered will be sold to one of the suppliers in town, where in turn he shall sell it. The furs I sell to a tailor who pays quite a hefty price for them.

I hope one day you shall live in the fruit of my work. To see the labour I have put into it with my own hands.. The next plans for now will be to chart out more regions for specific animals to hunt and perhaps hire another.. Also, to finally give name to the business I set up.. It is difficult, but we'll make it through.
