Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? I have little time to pass outside of my duties at the stable and caring for my own horse, Jack. I enjoy taking the air outside the city walls. The fields and hills are beautiful all through the year. Sitting beside the river is a wonderful way to sort through my thoughts. Reading is a pleasure in the evenings. Books I brought south with me, of course. And letters. Visiting the tavern or meadhall with friends is pleasant now and then.
71. What is your most treasured possession? My wedding ring. The ocarina gifted to me by the elf, Cesistya, at my wedding. An old journal given to me by the dwarf, Belodin. And a wood-carving made for me by my dear friend, Baldmar. That is more than one thing, I know.
72. What is your favorite color? Green, I think.
73. What is your favorite food? I’m not sure I have a favorite. I am not a picky knife-and-fork.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read? Ah. I have my own diaries that I sometimes peruse. A few books gifted to me, that I treasure. Letters that I have collected through the years.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? I do not know what a “movie” is? Music is a delight. I do not think I am difficult to entertain. The world is a great tapestry of beautiful things; some made by hands, and some by nature.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? A bit of mead now and then, but nothing excessive.
77. How do you spend a typical night? I may work till after sundown if I am needed by Elfswith. In the summer, I prefer being outside. In the winter, close to a good fire! I do not mind being alone, though good company can make an evening very sweet.
78. What makes you laugh? ...amusing things? I’m not sure how one might answer this question. What amuses one person may not amuse another.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Oh, many things are shocking and offensive. There are vile and evil things in the world, after all. It is not something I wish to think on long enough to compile a list, however.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? Sleep is indeed an elusive thing sometimes. I don’t seek to amuse myself during such moments. I am more likely to stare at the ceiling and pointlessly brood about my life.
81. How do you deal with stress? I think...by focusing on the things that I *can* do, rather than drive myself mad with what I have no control over.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? It depends. Some things require planning. But I very much enjoy spontaneity and surprises. As long as they’re of the pleasant sort.
83. What are your pet peeves? Wasting time. Crude manners. Disrespect. Laziness. Being close-minded towards other people. Loud or grating personalities.
Part 7: Self Image, Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I rise before dawn and care for the horses until sundown. Yes, it is a busy routine, and as I get older (dare I begin to use this word? *laughs*), I find myself more tired at the end of the day. But I am a long way from retiring from it! I do not mind interruptions as long as it is nothing troubling or upsetting.
85. What is your greatest strength as a person? *a deep sigh* Oh, my. Well. Hmm. If it does not sound terribly conceited to say it - my capacity to love.
86. What is your greatest weakness? ...perhaps the same answer.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I am not sure. At times I wish I felt less. I wish that my heart were less...passionate. But then I would not be myself anymore.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Introverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy? I am more of an organized sort. I don’t care for owning many possessions, which helps.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. Working with horses. Caring for people. Not being lazy. Bad at? Hmm. Managing my own heart. That’s it, really.
91. Do you like yourself? ...sometimes. At other times, I wish nothing more than to get away from myself.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? *chuckles* I wouldn’t call myself an adventurer, and certainly not a heroine, though I have traveled a bit. I would not mind seeing more of the world before I die. It is a place of great beauty and mystery, after all.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? *a soft sigh* I would have said I would like to be a wife and mother. But I do not hold to dreams anymore. I cannot bear to see them crushed a second time. I may be a wife again. I may be a mother. But I will not cling to such hopes. So...there is nothing I wish to accomplish. Perhaps a better answer would be to see my heart healed, but I do not think it is possible.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? I am not sure. Perhaps still living here, but something tells me it will not be so. I imagine I will be somewhere in the Riddermark.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? In the arms of my beloved.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Twenty-four hours would not be enough time. I suppose I would write to those I love who are far away. And then keep close to the man I care for, and to Jack as well.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? I would like to be thought of as a light in a world that has much darkness.
98. What three words best describe your personality? Impassioned, certainly *chuckles* Though I do not show it much of the time. Warm, perhaps. Enduring.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you? It is hard to guess how another person might think. Hmm. You would likely get a different answer depending on who you asked. I imagine a common theme would be that I care greatly for those I’m close to. Loving, passionate, et cetera.
