Bones

With the preparations ended, I sought to meet more people. Instead, I spent all week in my home or striding the woods, deciding to deal with these woodmen first, to be certain they are of no danger to me or my home. I care about it first and foremost and I think I always shall. Perhaps that is odd to some, but I accept that. I wish to get to know them, but I shan't forget myself in the process.

I have met with the Tree-walker (she had told me this was a taken name) once more. Seems like my advice have helped her in dealing with some woman that she had enmity from - and they are something akin to tenuous friends. She shall be taught how to write, while the other person will have attention to herself, as she wants. I never understood that, but to each their own.

We spoke of her people a bit. Again, I am wary to hear that someone had tamed the "wolf-hounds", suggested to be actual wolves. Only a fool would presume a wolf tamed, so I just assume these are hounds which have wolf blood in their veins - as that does happen at rare times. It is more plausible than full-blooded wolves. This "Snow-hair", as I heard, is supposedly snobby and proud - to the point of clashing with the clan chief over petty things. I shall have to see this for myself before I cast judgment on it, but it is good to know what to look out for.

I shall bring gifts for the hounds of these people - a raw bone of lamb with meat scraps stack on them, four in total - as they have eleven hounds, it would be three hounds for each bone, with one separate for the less social wolf-hounds. These people love their companions and I shall show that I know of it. I will go to see them at their next clan moot - within four suns. Before that, I shall visit Rowan and tell him of it, see if he wishes to come with me still. I would not blame him for not coming, nor do I believe I shall need his presence. But I made a promise and I keep those.

For today, I have cider, a book and a blanket. I have been drinking cider more often recently. Perhaps I should slow down with it.
