The Halls of Mandos

The Halls of Mandos

Aging rapidly, Yurri had been invited by Miss Kithri to spend his final days in her home, of dwarven make, just a stone's throw away from the hall of Thorin. She took good care of him, and many of his kin did come to give him company. Still, as the days and weeks passed them all by, Yurri's condition steadily worsened. Now, it was time for him to bid farewell to Middle-Earth.

In his final moments, Yurri was sitting comfortably in his favourite armchair within the home of Kithri, shrouded in the blanket Miss Addiela kindly gifted to him before her departure from Thorin's Hall. Present for the old dwarf's passing were Kithri, MaddoctMaurr and Blida. He gave a speech for all who were gathered, and then he knew it was time to go. The Halls of Mandos were awaiting.

Yurri, who was so often fraught with worry, anger and misery, had embraced his rest well enough. Comforted by his friends, it was easy for him to let go. The little hobbit held his frail hand as Maddoct and Maurr sang him to his sleep, all as Blida played a merry tune. The old dwarf slipped away peacefully, the echo of his last smile never fading from his face.
