Log 5: Entry 4

The flyers have been placed on the noticeboards in town and within the tavern. I've managed to set them up in most of the villages as well, aside from Everslade.
A strange and bitter,
encounter happened as I was out there. It was good to see miss Ollena, and by what I understand, she's newly moved in there. She couldn't help me find the noticeboard, or direct me to a tavern in which I could ask to put these notices up, but she did tell me to speak with miss Carria.
As we spoke of the woman, she happened upon us, and to my surprise, she requested to speak with me in private, to which I agreed.
Once behind closed doors, she greeted me with fury and a hand upon her weapon. From what she told me, it would seem that miss Cesistya has taken to speak ill of me. Telling people that I've altered the mind of miss Ruevir and by what I understand, has even suggested abuse. It's insulting. I can only assume that the elf is bitter as I've succeeded where she failed, that I've given Ruevir a future while she sat and did nothing, waited for it to sort itself out.
I told the woman the truth of what had happened, but she insists there is more that I'm hiding. That she holds no trust towards me and thus refused to allow me to place my flyers in the village. Adding that she'd only allow such if she would find proof that my words are valid. I refused, as I saw no point. There are many villages, and the town of Bree has plenty of people. I have nothing to prove to this woman. I'll speak to Ruevir about this.

Upon my return, I found masters Maurr and Tumunir outside. The latter strode off not long after I arrived. When asked if he needed any assistance, he referred me to master Maddoct
I spoke with master Maurr for a moment and learned that something had happened. I headed on inside to find Doc, in the kitchen, upset. I inquired about what had transpired between the two and, while being stubborn at first, he told me.
I let him speak, and when it felt right, I moved the topic along to help him forget and think of new things. The whole evening was spent in his company; I can't remember the last time we've had such a chance.
I heard mention of an inn in the nearby village of Newharrow, called The Peaceful Peach. I offered Doc to join me there, which he accepted.
We met with the tavern keeper, miss Piper. A friendly young woman who joined us while we ate. Doc enjoyed some of the Inn's stew, and I treated myself to boar meat. It's true what I've heard of the boar here; I can't recall I felt my belly so full. Yet, there was enough left over for the dwarf to enjoy as well. I decided to treat him to wine and pie as well; he seemed to find his joy again. It was good to see.

It was a strangely peaceful evening, and it kept my mind quiet for a short while. I'm still not sure what happened, but at the end of it all, Doc decided to embrace me as a show of thanks. It was comforting. The wine helped me sleep through the rest of the night. It's been long since I've woken up and felt rested.
I'll make another trip to town to put up the rest of the notices and see if anything shall yield from it.
