Everyone Leaves

Ash closed the door behind her and leaned back against it. Fortunately, Elgerin was still asleep at this time. The morning was still quite young.

He left. Of course he had. She slid down to sit on the floor, covering her face. Everyone left her at some point. It was simply the constant of life for her. At least Carria was home.

"Why? Why do all of you insist on leaving me..." She mumbled to herself. She didn't need to pretend. To put on a bright smile or warm, happy mood. There was no one she needed to be strong for right there. It was just her.

"I did not love him. It was too soon after Hamadryt. But I did not wish for him to leave like this." Her thoughts continued on, swirling cyclone of torment.
"They all leave. No one stays with me. Alone. I always become alone. Why? Why do I exist? What is this? They all leave sometime. Even after claims of "love". What..." And so on it went.

On a small table beside her fireplace, a bouquet of twenty-one roses lay, unseen in the moment of broken walls.
