Letter to Liffey: Worry

Maddoct to my dear Liffey,

I was confused, and almost frightened, by the letter from Seimurr. But alas! It was not addressed to me; I was only to be the one to deliver it to another. And deliver it I did, to the other Dwarf’s delight (and mine, too). Thank you for sending it. The rest of the party is still well, it seems.

Don't tell me to simply not worry after such news! Do you need a healer? Is there one there at that gross Inn? How are your ribs? Does the other woman have preparations for her child? Will she be able to return to a suitable town in time before delivery? Is Sedryn hurt as well? Are you hurt anywhere else? Should I make a trek that way with supplies? Do you need anything? I worry.

Make sure to breathe deeply (though it may hurt somewhat) to prevent sickness. Take remedies to ease the pain, don’t wear anything restrictive or tight as they heal. It may take one to two months, perhaps (and hopefully not more), depending on the severity. Put cold compresses on your ribs. Keep from being too mobile and stressing them or making it worse.

I’m worried!

Luckily events here have not been too stressful, though I find sleep attempting to elude me as of late as my mind continuously stirs. I almost feel as if something is going to happen soon that I won’t be able to prevent. I have been eating well, though — too much — a trip to a tailor for larger shirts may soon be required. I have been very social, and very busy, and somewhat tired, but nothing will keep me from getting on my pony and setting off for you if assistance is needed.

With much worry and love,
Maddoct son of Haddoct!
