Log 4: Entry 1

It's been awhile since I returned from the journey, but I announced myself only recently. It has given me time to work on my grandfather's recipe. I think I've done it. I'll need master- Bíld and Maddoct to confirm whether this has been a success or not. Thought I would see them last night, but it appears that they were too busy with miss Blackburorw and her dinner. I was not invited.

Miss Blackburrow came by with a man. He asked for potions, one to enhance his endurance and another for wounds. The former was an odd request and I have nothing of the sort, a change in diet was recommended and I shall prepare a salve for him to take. It seems he's going after a warg, foolishly enough.
He has given me Ginseng, I've not seen the root since my time in Gondor. I'll prepare his salve with it. The man has agreed to bring me herbs, roots and flowers I require should he come across them while he travels, in exchange for supplies.

    * Ginseng
    * Passion Flower
    * Marsh Mallow
    * Feverfew
    * Milk Thistle
    * Night Flower
    * Seeds of the Morning Glory
    * Nightshade
    * Echinacea
    * Peppermint
    * Cinnamon
    * Blessed Thistle
    * Buckbean
    * Valerian
    * Wormwood
    * White Willow Bark
    * Licorice
    * Strong peppers

I did share my discovery with miss Fletcher, she was able to understand the significance of this all. It was good to speak with her and see her reaction to my experiment. Like me, she has her doubts about its success, but even if this isn't what I hope for it's a step closer to having the real thing. She suggested to look into a rarer metal, I may take her up on the challenge. As well as the one from the man who visited, to make a potion that may enhance a man's endurance. If it had been meant for the company of a woman, the task would have been easier. He seeks to climb mountains and have more energy in a simple vial. I'll have to look further into this and see if any such thing can be made.

As usual, I find myself uncertain where I stand with miss Blackburrow. It's never been easy to know and I doubt it shall change any time soon. I'll see what the coming days will bring and whether I should follow the advice I've been given by master Bíld and those I was in company of during the trip.

I've been sneezing a lot this evening. Mother tried to convince me that you only sneezed like that when someone was talking poorly about you.

On that topic. A letter waited for me when I returned home. Mother passed away three months after I left the city. After the portrait I was given, I find myself regretting not having had such done while my family lived. I cannot recall their faces.

I feel strangely upset.
