Child in the Bushes

Continuing on from the last paragraph...
A child appeared from the bushes. She had wandered off from the group - she was with them when I first saw them and had gone to look ahead for the missing ones, not to return until this point. I do not understand why they brought someone so young and small in here. She said she is a thief-turned-locksmith. Well, she didn't know what a locksmith was until I told her. Either way, there are no locks to open in the forest, and for that I fail to see why she is there.
