I've hired miss Rosewood, but have had to cut down her work to only cleaning and cooking, as I can't pay what she asks.
I'm told that silver and gold flows freely here, added that her previous pay had been up to ten silvers a week for work at an Inn. I still think I'm being played for a fool with that, a Man could buy a decent horse each week for such wealth.
Even so, I can't risk another one adding to the flame that's already spreading all around me. I've noticed some of the neighbors giving me a sour look. Stories travel fast in small communities.
I made an attempt to know the young woman, but it failed. She seems as talkative as myself and ended on a bitter note when she accused me of needing to be right all the time. I still fail to see where people get this when I inquire about answers.
The subject - nature of curiosity.
* I inquire about her reason to be interested in history.
- She gives no reason.
* It doesn't make sense and I try to point out the nature of curiosity, that it's there for a reason. If we have no reason to be curious, we wouldn't be.
- She then asks if I must always be right.
* I make a point that I never said such a thing.
- She chooses to agree to disagree.
I'm still unable to find any logic in her words, though it might be for the better. For now, I'll keep my conversations with her limited and keep the posters up. Still need another to help with the rest of the chores.
* Check the market
