Background
A descendant of Faithful Numenoreans and a member of the Dunedain. He has fought against the Shadow's forces for most of his life, being raised by his father to be a leader and ranger among his people. Whenever he was not training in the arts of combat or woodcraft he would either spend time with his foster brother Maellong or spend time among animals. His elders were always amazed at his ability to connect with animals no matter how great or small and be playing with them as if they were household pets. One story related to his abilities was when he was eight years old and wandered away from his parents during a visit to Esteldin. He came upon a young ranger being chased by an enraged auroch bull and called to the bull. The ranger saw him and panicked, telling the child to run before he was trampled by the charging bull but to his shock the bull stopped before the boy. Aranoll chided the bull and swatted at the cold nose like one would scolding an unruly puppy, and to make the scene even more wonderous, the bull allowed Aranoll to climb on his back and ride him back to esteldin while his little rider laughed and giggled. As he grew up he honed his extraordinary gift with the help of a certain Radagast the Brown who visited on the request of Aranoll's Father. It seemed fate decided to give him another turn he wouldn't expect. One day, he was wandering in the wilds and came upon a wounded warg and was horrified by the wounds that looked like they were inflicted daily. Normally, he would slay such a beast for they often ally with foul goblins and orcs, but looking at the broken spirit of the warg moved him to pity it. Left in a pit trap to die was cruel even by the standards of goblins and no matter how much he tried, he could not leave it to die. He spent several hours fashioning a harness to pull the warg out safely though his initial attempts were met with weak snarls and bared fangs. Despite this he managed to get the warg out and drag it on a frame with the aid of his horse to a safe place. He looked after the warg for the next few months and slowly brought the warg back to health. Not surprisingly he had to endure many snarls and snapping teeth at him but despite this opposition and distrust, he did not lose his temper and treated it with kindness. Finally, Aranoll released the warg back into the wild and returned to his duties patrolling the lone lands and the north downs. Ever since he parted ways with the warg, he noticed a large animal following him from a safe distance, always just beyond direct sight. This strange occurrence increased whenever he made camp and searched for firewood or game, he would come back and find a rabbit or game bird freshly killed near his pack.
He discovered that the warg was a she-wolf from the northern breeds of Eriador, her white fur being a testament to that claim. He named her Ithil (Full Moon) and from then on, she spends most of her time being his scout and protector, often saying she is "simply guarding her ranger." Together they became a force to be reckoned with in the wilds. Still, their partnership must remain a secret to avoid the obvious problems of people condemning her for her race's affiliation with Sauron and his forces. Though he hopes one day Sauron will face and her kind will be free to be as they wish, he is currently content with her at his side.
When approached, one will feel a fatherly presence in the rugged ranger who comes and goes like the wind, gladly offering himself as a guide and mentor to the young and those seeking the Rangers' way of life. He will protect his kin and friends whenever possible and there is little he will not part with to aid those who need him.
In his travels, he has been given the great honor of being called elf-friend by a high elf for his deeds and in addition has close ties to various communities across Eriador and in the South.
