The Valliant Heart: The Meeting

Luciana seemed to finally understand our feelings and intentions yet I've still not trusted her enough. There was only the task between us.
Then finally, we moved into the plan to get the suspect confess his guilty. "One, that certain man is not walking freely, he is stationed in one outer village near the border and is observed. I got eyes and ears, rangers. And no the healer is not spying Battalion. I send her there to be safe." - She started with explaining us things and we just listened to her carefully. - "Second, That man must never learn that the ranger is alive. She is witness. And only one alive. Third. We need capture that man alive. As there is still some crimes unsolved. Is this far clear?" - The Major finally finished his explanation with the question. I nodded in agreement even if I was not satisfied with bringing the man back alive. He deserved to die as all of us knew. He brought shame upon soldiers of Gondor and still is bearing it around. Velam nodded as well and then we waited for Luciana to continue. "He murdered fourteen year old easterling girl. And abused and even worse. That ranger found her body in the ditch. Easterling or no, he murdered that girl and I must link him to that death. She deserves justice as much others he killed." - She picked up and I nodded once again while we listened to her. "Did he dishonoured them too?" - Velam then cut her words and my hand rolled into a fist in one moment. Such monsters shouldn't be walking between people."That ranger is lucky one, he didn't ashamed. Others weren't so lucky. Yes he dishonoured, tortured and kidnapped them." - Major continued with his words and answered Velam's question at the same time. He couldn't control himself anymore and started shouting uncensoral things into the distance. I was filled with similar emotions but my trainers taught me to control them for the greater good and so I did. "Believe me, I want tear his heart out of him, nude him and chop in pieces..but sadly before can do that, must link him to few other unsolved murders. The ranger is sure he is behind them and for that we need the evidence." - She explained the case even more. Strangely, she was sounding more like a human while speaking of barbaric kill method for that man. I knew she was right with that anyway, even though I hated killing. "If the ranger is then we are as well. We will find the proof and then all of us will be able to beat the life out of him." - I then commented as my emotions got a bit out of hand, but then I relaxed. We stood in silence for a moment and then she continued. "Me, ranger's cousin and she itself came up a plan. He thinks that the ranger is dead. And she is only person capable get confession out of him. Finding proofs is tricky, even trickier is make this man fell to a trap." - She kept talking and then Velam looked at her once again. "Are you planing to use her as a bait?" - He asked in a moment and I looked at the two of them. "Bait? No. If he learns that the ranger is alive, he goes as far as Minas Morgul to get her dead. He is not only a murderer but a traitor. I had to go all the way to Angmar to get proofs and ruin his plans." - Luciana then answered observing both of us. I remained calm but inside I was overflowing with emotions. "So where we can find him?" - Velam then asked and I picked up the words as well. "And what is our task in the plan?" - I added and then the Major decided to tell us more about the plan itself. "Not so fast. First thing, proofs, which you aid. Second..diversion. After proofs, is arrest, formal questioning. and there you enter again, as guards. This person will be a bit 'drugged'. Then in play enters the ranger. She 'haunts' him like a spirit questioning. And we need make that illusion happen. As in this confusion state, he surely talks, spills something out. And that's where we get confession. You two are honourable men from Minas Tirith. In front of the court you tell what he said and that's his doom. Nobody questions your honesty when has proofs. For again swan knights, like me can be accused twisting the truth." - She explained it all to us and made me curious once again. I liked the way it was destined to work though. Maybe that Major wasn't that terrible at all? We knew not. "Why would you?" - I asked out of curiosity. "Because he is a noble man and rich and bribed half of the lawyers to his side." - Luciana then answered. Velam got lost deep in his thoughts for a moment and I nodded to the words of the Swan Knight Commander. "What comes confession part, the ranger is most vulnerable then, spirits aren't wielding weapons nor armory. And you got understand, she is very traumatized. She is not like me and good so." - She finished describing the plan and our tasks to us. "We will do everything we can." - I said without a thought, but it was true. She was a really close person to me so I couldn't let her down. "Yes, she is a good person after all that matters" - Velam then said agreeing with my words and telling his own opinion on her. And so we talked about the ranger for the rest of our meeting. After that we spent the night outside of the city.
