She sat on the edge of the biggest bed she had ever seen before and wondered if it was for big families to stay. She was just 14 and that was the first time she has been staying in an inn. The truth was they fled from home to Trestlebridge just to bring a letter which they found on a corpse. “Why do they have to give us separate rooms” she muttered crankily. She felt all alone in that unfamiliar inn room and crawled on the bed to cling one of the big pillows.
A wolf howled to the moon…
An Owl settled in front of the window…
As the light of the candle trembling and causing the shadows dance on the walls.. Kuzgun closed her eyes and covered her ears tight as her heart beats like jumping out of her chest. The image of the death man was there…
She opened her eyes and tried to calm herself but… all the sounds and darkness seemed to make everything worse. She was about to cry when she ran out of the room… “It’s all his fault. He should have known…” muttered while she was entering into his room but then stopped realizing her appearance. She was just wearing a long shirt as a night dress which captain lent and felt the cold touch of the floor under her bare feet. If her father had seen this she knew that he would have a heart attack. But Lhak was her best friend and she didn’t mind her appearance at all. She would be safe and secure…
She rushed towards to the bed to wake him up but hesitated before him, sleeping quietly. His face seemed blessed under the moonlight. As she watches him like enchanted all her anger and fears fade away. A strong emotion caught her unprepared.
He was her best friend… The closest…
She started to lean over him like drowning into his presence unaware of what she was doing and stopped when her lips barely touched his. She stunned for a moment as her senses coming back to her. “What the hell am I doing!!!”
While shame and panic fills within she ran back to her room and hid under the bed linings trying to forget what she has done..
