Of bee-hives and memories
In the bright morning outside the gates of Caras Galhadon Ealendil meets with hir Astordir, and is soon joined by Carniquessë and Elvealin.
Ealendil has asked hir Astordir to accompany her to Cerin Amroth, to visit the beautiful woods, but she also has another destination in mind, to a place closer to her heart.
Elvalin reveals her plans to gather honey for the house of healing in Imladris at the nearby bee-keeper. It was a task she took upon herself before they left the vale, and Carniquessë agrees to come along.
On borrowed horses they make slow progress through the woods, sunlight filtered by the golden canopy of the Mellyrn makes their skin tingle, and drapes them in a soft glow. They only stop on the road to chat and point out various place, hidden gems among the trees, where other elves gather.
After climbing the talan at Cerin Amroth and admiring the view, a return to the ground sees them on the path to the bee-keeper. Elvealin is gathering supplies for the house of healing in Imladris, and the others have agreed to help her in this task.
On the return back to Caras Gladhon, horses loaded with carefully packed honey combs, Ealendil steers them to the destination she had in her heart, the Garden of Memories. It is a place filled with memories of old to many, but to Ealendil it is the place where her mother finally convinced her daughter to lay down her spear and shield and honor the legacy of her mother’s calling.
It is here that Rilaeril of the Fountain finds them, arriving in time to enjoy the music of Ealendil and Elvealin, and to take part in the sharing of memories of old.
