The birth had been without complications, and within just a few minutes, the spindly-legged foal was trying to stand. Brynleigh stood watch throughout the afternoon, and supper time found the little fellow prancing along behind his mother, Hazel, in the sun-drenched pasture, while a gentle, westward wind tousled the grass.
He would be thus called Westanwind.
