Ash hunting

Ash ran silently through the woods. She was close, she could feel it. She paused so as not to frighten him if he was near, and leaned against a tree for cover. She heard the very faint snap of a twig and glanced from behind the tree. The large buck was very near and she had a clear shot. She whispers, "Forgive me, but your body will give us warmth and food." This was her way of feeling better while hunting, as if the animal could hear and forgive her. She moves silently, nocking an arrow and pulling it back, aiming slowly. She takes a breath, and lets go.
