A Nightmare Becomes a Dream

With all these nightmares and the past chase on the trek to my house, with my training started to really teach me how to deal with threats, I believe its time to deal with these nightmares. I did my chores, anxious to get to rest, hoping that the nightmare will happen again. Dinner was good, as always it is. I went to sleep quickly, and soon descended into the same, dark, dimly lit, forest that I was in before in the other nightmares. This time I was with a lantern by my hip, shield on my left hand, and spear in my right. I was ready to face my fear, or at least attempt to. The lantern shone bright, combined with the moonlight, it gave me a visible path to follow, with the aid of my memories. My spear was shining, the lantern's flame flickered and danced upon it, while the moon's light gave an aura of strength and sharpness about it. Growling was about, coming from more than one source, all around me. Yellow eyes seemed to appear out of the thin stretched shadows of the forest, piercing me, searching me even. Pups and full-grown started to come into the light, large wolves, with piercing yellow eyes. Wargs. Disgusting, vile, Wargs. The one that stalked me in my previous nightmare was the alpha, that I could tell, large claw-like scars were all upon its body. I started to shout at it, a verbal challenge, if you will. I readied my spear and shield, continuously taunting him. It was there that he had pounced, and there that I thrust my spear into his chest. Blood poured out, forming a pool of it. The other Wargs had angrily stepped into the shadows of the forest, while some of the pups had whimpered in fear. I felt proud, finally dispelling the source of my fear. Sleep was wonderful now, much better than with those horrid nightmares. The Forest was replaced with light, my lantern vanished, my spear and shield shone like gold for several moments, then I saw a white steed, beautiful and regal, a gem-encrusted horn, and a proud, inspiring man, look at me with proudness, but then disappear. I awoke, it was morning, I got up, had breakfast, and spoke to my father about my dream. He smiled, "Good, good. I'm glad you've dispelled your fear, and quite intrigued with the person you had seen. I am proud! You know how to handle a spear and shield even in dream, forever shall you be known, Fear-dispeller. So say I!" I smiled, father was often happy now a days, with uncle gone, as it seems to me they had a rivalry, more-so that my nightmares have disappeared like the shadows in the forest, at least for now, I do believe.
