Call Me By My Name.

Call me by my name and I can show you the stars. The endless fields, the distant mountains. The ethereal plains between.

Call me by my name so that I can almost see you. All of you, hiding in a chaotic scene. Like an echo, or a whisper, or a ghost. Something that I can seek out, so that I can treat you later like buried treasure.

Call me by my name and I can love you until my heart would surely burst. Until you swept me off my feet, cushioned my fall and cradled me, like a child.

Call me by my name so that I can stay with you beneath plush sheets, illuminated a crisp white by an early daylight. Two warm bodies. Two sleepy smiles. Two souls, intertwined.

Call me by my name, and I shall come gladly to your aid. Standing in a smoking battlefield, long coat billowing. A wraith with eyes deadset. Arm outstretched to pull you out of the fire and shield you beneath my wing. Reach for these slender fingers.

Call me by my name, scream it if you must. To yourself, in your dreams. From rooftops or mountain peaks. To the cracked earth, to the opened heavens in a torrential downpour.

Call me by my name, my love.

For I shall appear.
