Of friends and fights

As the leader of the Auburn Company it is my job to find suppliers for our tradesmen, and this time it was furs. I met Aiona for the first time in the Prancing Pony, and being a gentleman, I of course tried to buy her a drink, she refused, on the account she was waiting on friends. While she was waiting we talked a little, turns out she and her friends sold furs, seeing an opportunity I suggested we could make a deal, coin for furs, I told her the location of the company's camp and then her friends arrived and I left for the evening.

The next day I was checking out our stock near the eastern road to the north gate through Bree, when Aiona and her friends from the night before turned up. One of them, a local Bree lander, Ardt, carried three heavy furs, all bundled close to his chest. Aiona walked with swagger up the hill, but wasn't the leader, at the front was a long haired bearded man, carrying himself with pride. As they approached they stopped in front of me, I out my pipe down and greeted them warmly. After a brief exchange we settled on a price more than generous, proof of my good will, and we headed to the Pony to share a drink to our new friendship, and we were joined by Calum, a member of the company. As Ergaric went to buy the drinks the four of us wandered into the back to find a private parlour. The night was merry and jests were made, stories told and toasts made. It was a good night. In stumbles a dwarf, tipsy as they come, not as drunk as Ergaric though, and stupidly enough a drinking contest ensued. Now the origins of the quarrel I cannot recall, however from what I remember, a brawl took place and Ardt joined in, the dwarf held his own, but not for long against the five of us, I attempted reason but when he drew a blade, Aionna and I drew ours. After cutting his cheek, I told him to leave, yet he refused, although it took a while, the dwarf left, and we decided to call it a night. As we left the Pony with smirks on our faces, we headed off, just to find the dwarf waiting with a friend of his. This was starting to piss me off now, why couldn't he just get lost?! It would have ended in a brawl if Todsi had not shown up, a member for only a week, managed to stole a fight ensuing in the heart of town. We headed back to camp and that was the end of that. Bree may not be a large place, but the personalities definitely are. If the Auburn Company is to make it in Bree, I'm going to have to stop getting in fights and start being a leader. This is gonna be hard.
