Eve of Sorrows

Come, live in the wild, live a life for the tame

‘Tis safer for a child, or family out of name

Oft times you might see, the closest at heart

Are not those in name, but whom with you, shall never part

The blood moon rises, a sign of great pain

A great pain arises, one without name

You hope for the sun, it slumbers deep

So, on this night, your sorrows you keep

Lay in the grass, gazing up from your back

Begin to number the stars, you shall never lack

Feel the emptiness grow, causing a deep darkness

The world around goes on, appearing quite heartless

The blood moon rises, a sign of great pain

A great pain arises, one without name

You hope for the sun, it slumbers deep

So, on this night, your sorrows you keep

Awaken this morning and open your eyes

The sun has risen, your weeping now dries

Sit up, look about, taking in all the beauty

Your sorrows are through, life’s done its duty

The blood moon rises, a sign of great pain

A great pain arises, one without name

You hope for the sun, it slumbers deep

So, on this night, your sorrows you keep

The morning comes soon now, you’ve little time to wait

The joy of the sun’s rising shall open light’s gates

The battle now over, the blood moon now gone

The sun stays with you, its light always shone
