Lady Elufer Selme'urra, Gem of Imladris,
I hope that this letter finds you in good health, sparking a smile while you devote yourself to your studies,
The geodes are, indeed, most peculiar. Every day I devote to them brings half an answer and two more questions, if not more. Their nature is pure speculations. Their true origins can only be hypothesized. Everything we know was reverse-deducted by minds of three races... and that might be the key!
The key I have mentioned should appear, if you will it so, as presence of Grimfara, who I recommend wholeheartedly as both your guardian on the road, as well as a physical manifestation of one more mind. Do you remember the theories of Erasm? One of them is that the geodes are more predictable when someone from the race of men is nearby. Not to mention, our Woodsman friend is more than comfortable in the wilderness and the axe he carries can fell both oaks and orcs, with ease.
My lady! There is no doubt that your experiment can yield tremendous results. For my part, I shall keep what I believe to be the main geode under close watch. We do not want any unexpected discharges, in the end. Should you oppose the presence and company of Grimfara, for any reason, do let me know: I haven't sent words to him yet. I can't stress enough, though, how useful he can be to your quest.
May the sun, moon and stars always light your path.
