Chronicle Summary

Still missing, the Mithdirith that traveld to the Ettenmoors many seasons ago leaves the Loth-i-Lonnath in the care of Hiril Lothoniel who has taken the herth on it's rhîw (winter) patrol to Imladris. This leads to an unexpected clue in the search for the missing army.

Chronicle Content

Loth-i-Lonnath made it's rhîw (winter) journey to patrol the roads and escort residents of the Grey Havens to Imladris. This journey takes about two weeks. Most of our journey to Imladris was without incident until the last day of riding. An edhel, Rinwathor, was found fatally injured at the Ford of Bruinen. He did not survive long enough for the company to take him to Imladris for healing. He had been wandering for days without proper care and his injuries were beyond all our medicine as a result. However, in his death, he brought our herth closer to hope in finding our missing Mithdirith soldiers.

Here is what we know of Rinwathor

Though he said his name was Thurindanir, we later learned that his more common name was Rinwathor. He is an Elf from Imladris that once spent most of time living and hunting in the Trollshaws rather than living in the Vale. He was an accomplished archer who ventured out of the Trollshaws and traveled north early last year following a band a yrch at the edge of the Trollshaws. He's not in the military, but an archer who hunts the area and simply found himself caught up in the fray. He fought alongside our Mithdirith in the North War using his archery skills and is familiar with our house after spending much time with us at the Ettenmoors . After the many battles in the Ettenmoors seemed to conclude, he marched south with the regiments following the Mitheithel river. The Mithdirith were headed for Tharbad to meet our ships there to travel back to the Gulf of Lhûn. Rinwathor, feeling his contribution to our army had come to an end, split off from the march to make his way back to the Trollshaws alone to return to his life. He seemed proud to have been a part of such a noble and valiant effort.

Several days ago, north of the Last bridge, he was attacked by another band of yrch and barely escaped with his life. Losing his weapons in the fight, he fled deeper into the Trollshaws to lose the yrch. He was not pursued. The yrch seemed intent on going south. Rinwathor, fatally wounded, wandered for several days in an attempt to find his way back to Imladris before succumbing to his wounds at the Ford of Bruinen. It is here where we find him. He spent his finally hour trying to tell us what he knew. He passed on to the Halls of Mandos shortly there after. His last words were of Tariel, his wife, who he will soon meet in Valinor.

While we all were at the Ford of Bruinen, a company from Vanimar came to greet us from Imladris. They were angered by the death of Rinwathor, a known archer in Imladris. Vanimar is set upon avenging the death of Rinwathor.

While Vanimar gathers, Hiril Lothoniel and Hîr Cirdamir seek out skilled edhil from the area to take on a quiet mission to follow up on the clues left by Rinwathor regarding our missing Mithdirith.
