At the Ninth Elven Ball III

Lord Anglachelm's opening speech

"...And here we are. For the ninth time. I daresay it did work. Again and again.

As the time passed, the Elven ball went beyond its original purpose too. It strengthened friendships, formed better bonds, gave inhabitants of Imladris a chance to recall their glorious, happy days. In these days, the courts of Beleriand are no more. And in Eregion no revellers are seen, and Lindon is a shadow of the former kingdom. Without a king.

But revellers, being mirrors of the ancient times do persist still in these shores. They remind the world the blissful days of old where we could walk under the stars full of hope. Looking at you, I do remember some of those days myself.

And there are few more dances left to perform still. For not all of us have departed..."
