| Date: | November 21st, 2017 to November 28th, 2017 |
|---|---|
| Time: | 3:00pm Servertime (use /servertime to assist you. There's also a countdown clock on our website) |
| Location: | Starts in Falathlorn. Participants will receive details the day of the event. |
Event details:
This is a two day elven rolelaying event.
Tuesday, 21 November @ 3pm Servertime - Departure from Lindon, travel, and camping
Tuesday, 28 November @ 3pm Servertime - Camping, travel and arrival in Imladris
Roleplay regarding this journey but outside of those two scheduled days/times at camping locations are encouraged and welcomed. So enjoy the journey with anyone who is participating on additional nights as you wish.
.
We'll depart on the 21st, travel for a while and then make camp. This is a simulation of the travel time, thus of course we will not be RPing every night of travel between Lindon and Imladris. In reality, it would take two or more weeks to do this journey. We try to simulate that as much as we are able. Think of these two RP nights as excerpts from the trip, like an episode of a TV show.
The second scheduled day the following week will including camping, travel and arrival at Imladris. Location TBA to participants.
In the past, we've scheduled 2 days in a week to do travel and camping between Lindon and Imladris, but we are only doing 1 day a week this time due to RL constraints.
Roleplaying Notes:
• Elven focused roleplaying, so please bring an elf.
(Realistically, other races are rare in The Havens and would come from places more than a weeks dangerous ride away, such as the Shire and Bree. Keep this in mind if you're trying to be 'different' by showing up with a non-elf. Furthermore, this is hosted by an elven kinship. We focus on elves who live in Lindon.)
• Lore focused, immersion role-play environment.
(We are serious about it being a lore friendly and RP immersion environment. However, that being said, please be polite and role with things. Not everyone knows every detail of lore/dates/names/language - thus, bombastic lore police are not welcome. As a public event, we are only looking for a good effort, not perfection. If you're extremely knowledgeable about the lore, share that knowledge in a way that is constructive, not rude, argumentative, challenging or pointedly questioning in your RP chat. Gentle nudges are fine, but ultimately strive to simply enjoy being with other RPers who share similar passions as you, not pretentiously trying to show off how much more you know than other people. It's annoying and scares off new roleplayers who are trying to learn. Show that you truly have the grace of the Eldar.)
• Music, stories, etc should fit the Middle-Earth setting.
(ABC files should not include popular/modern music. If we're humming the lyrics to "Baby's Got Back" while we're suppose to be in Middle-Earth, you're not getting it. Keep music within genre or don't play music.)
• Outfits are intended for travel. Any of our Mithdirith traveling will be in uniform.
(This is not a formal setting like a ball, so leave the fancy stuff in your vault. Dress is elven travel based.)
• All /say conversation is assumed to be Sindarin (elven language) unless otherwise noted.
(Please denote other languages such as [W] Westron, [Q] Quenya, [K] Khuzdul etc, if your character is speaking something other than Sindarin. Not every character speaks or understands every language, and shouldn't, especially if you're not an elf. Sometimes this makes RP interesting. If you're going to use real Sindarin from time to time, it is customary to include translation for those who many not know. Commonly used words may not require this, such as Mae g'ovannen, as a greeting or Quenya farewell, Namárië.)
• Weapons for travel are fine for this journey.
(Use good judgment as to when to have them out and when to have them away.)
• No pets please.
• Be polite, respectful and remain in-character.
• Beginning elven roleplayers are welcome.
