And I found him…
Half on the grass, half in the water…
Laying on the muddy surface, not moving…
Her heart skipped its rhythm, body stunned unable to move a finger. A sudden realize, the fear of losing him slapped her on the face and she ran the last meters like flying.
I found him half dead…
Surrounded by the shadows of the past…
A tortured soul trying to hide in his innocent childhood…
And I called him with his name…
Like a pray to pull him out of his terrible daydreams…
They managed to reach Adso’s camp. He was kind to offer a bed before the fire and a bowl of warm soup to those worn out travelers. Kuzgun watched him sleeping deeply under the dancing shadows of the flames. Although living 10 years without him, she startlingly realized that didn’t feel like a stranger. Of course physically he turned into a young man as Kuzgun could imagine yet it hasn’t changed a bit the way of his tender looks nor the touch of his hand.
She recalled the elven healers’ words about him… his sickness… Now she could truly understand what he was talking about. When his kind soul faced the ugliness of the world his mind found shelter in his innocent memories, in his childhood.
“And now?” she wondered if her presence enough to save him, if it could bind him into present.
Sighed softly as she could see how he worn out. She could even feel the heavy burden on his shoulders. Kuzgun felt a deep pain and guilt for letting him face the world alone but more her heart ached with longing. Crawled on her knees towards to him as quiet as possible and lied next to him. Feeling his presence, his warmth and hearing his regular breathe. For a moment reached her hand out to touch his soft blonde hair but then stopped, fingers closed forming a fist in the air and just lied next to him like there was an invisible wall stands between them.
